THERAPISTS

Kendall McMahon
As an Associate Therapist, I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to facilitate growth, healing, and positive change. Central to my philosophy is the recognition of everyone’s unique attributes and life journey, and the need to respect our diverse experiences, beliefs, and identities that shape a person's worldview. By creating a safe and nonjudgmental space, I strive to foster a sense of trust and acceptance, empowering clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with openness and authenticity.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic models. I tailor my approach to the individual or couple, incorporating techniques that best suit their unique needs, whether it's addressing present-day challenges, building emotional regulation skills, dealing with trauma, conflict resolution, or exploring underlying patterns from past experiences that influence behavior. My goal is to be my client’s partner throughout the therapeutic experience as they take each step towards enhancing their well-being.
Formal Education and Training: I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Golden Gate University. Major course work included therapeutic counseling techniques, cross-cultural counseling, and the philosophy of behavior.
Supervised Practice: As an Oregon Registered Associate of the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists, I abide by its Code of Ethics, and am under the supervision of Hayden Collier, LPC, who will review my case notes and treatment plans as part of the supervision process. Hayden is trained in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
